A New Highlight: “Rakuga Kids” Opens for the First Time in Hokkaido

As part of the grand opening, AEON Chitose introduces “Rakuga Kids,” the first amusement tenant of its kind in Hokkaido, opening on the second floor.

Rakuga Kids is a unique playground where children can draw their own characters—called rakuga—and then watch them grow through play. After creating a character, children can nurture it while enjoying playground equipment such as jungle gyms, combining creative expression with physical activity in a new kind of play experience.

A Renewed Second Floor Designed for Kids and Families

The second floor has been reorganized into a new zone called “Kids Republic,” bringing together children’s clothing, baby items, toys, games, and amusement facilities in one place.

The area is designed so families can enjoy both shopping and play without feeling rushed. The baby rest area has also been renovated, now featuring five private rooms to provide a more comfortable and environment for parents and children.

Expanded Food Floor with a Wider Selection

On the first floor, the food section has been expanded to offer a richer shopping experience. The renewed floor features a wider selection of fresh foods, including cut fruits, seafood landed near Tomakomai Port, and Hokkaido specialties such as Shiraoi beef.

The frozen food section has also been expanded, and customers can enjoy AEON’s original hand-stretched pizzas, baked in high-temperature ovens to achieve a crispy outside and chewy inside.

Everyday Living Essentials, Made More Convenient

The living goods floor now focuses on Topvalu’s home fashion series “Home Coordy,” offering bedding, furniture, and daily necessities at affordable prices.

The health and beauty care section has been expanded to approximately 1.5 times its previous size, enhancing product selection and convenience.
