AEON Marks 100 Years Since Incorporation
In September 1926, AEON's predecessor—Okadaya, a kimono shop—was reorganized as "Okadaya Gofukuten Co., Ltd.," marking the start of its history as a corporation. In 2026, AEON reaches the 100th anniversary of that incorporation.
Under the slogan "CHANGE for GOOD, Together."—which reflects a commitment to continued innovation built on a legacy of open management and transparency through the corporate structure—AEON will carry out a series of commemorative initiatives throughout the year, including limited-edition products and a group-wide campaign.
What began as a small local kimono retailer in 1926 has grown into one of Japan's largest retail groups. Over the past 100 years, AEON has expanded from a single shop to a nationwide network of supermarkets, shopping malls, and specialty stores—guided by a mission of pursuing peace, respecting people, and contributing to local communities.
